Disturbances at Home and Hospital

Disturbing family at home and others in a hospital ER were among the charges served late last week following a early morning arrest Thursday morning. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office charged 36-year-old Jason Miron Applewhite of Lake Road, Ware Shoals with Public Disorderly Conduct at the Laurens County Hospital along Brach of Peace in his Western Laurens County home overnight. He was also charged with Threatening the Life of a Public Official, Resisting Arrest and Escape after arrest. Five warrants cited an investigation of Sheriff’s Deputy Hampton.

Applewhite is accused of committing Non-Aggravated Breach of Peace by continuously screaming and yelling loudly during the late hours of the night and early morning hours of the morning, causing a major disruption for other family members trying to sleep inside the residence.

Also Thursday morning, he is accused of acting in a disorderly manner in an Emergency Room of Laurens County Hospital, a public place, this reportedly exhibited by repeatedly screaming and yelling vulgar items at the staff and patrons of the ER, as observed and/or heard by others. Witness statements reportedly indicate that Applewhite threatened to inflict bodily harm upon a Sheriff’s Deputy in the Hospital E.R., stating he would “Beat him to Xxx Xxxx Death.”

Applewhite is further accused of knowingly and willfully opposing and/or resisting a lawful arrest by a law enforcement officer by running, pushing, pulling and acting as dead weight to prevent being taken into custody. After arrest was accomplished, he was further accused of attempting to Escape the lawful custody of arresting deputies by jerking away from them and fleeing on foot after being placed in handcuffs.

Jason Miron Applewhite remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning with cash or surety bonds totaling $22,432.50.
