Fentanyl Alleged with Arrest

Fentanyl possession was alleged following a public intoxication arrest by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office this weekend. 28-year-old Christopher Cody Simmons of Desiree Lane, Gray Court was arrested with Deputy Adrian Williams initially issuing a ticket charging Simmons with Pedestrian under the Influence at 8:21 Saturday night in the 1,600 address-range on Milam Road. A warrant citing an investigation of Deputy Williams alleges that Simmons had in his possession eleven dosage units of Fentanyl, a schedule II, controlled substance and has prior convictions for this offense.

Christopher Cody remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning, awaiting a bond hearing.
