Suspect Wanted in Stolen Vehicle Case Now Charged

A man wanted by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office since Sunday, March 21st was booked by Deputies this past Sunday, April 4th. 22-year-old Dakota Allen Sergent of Kaplan Court, Simpsonville was wanted in connection with multiple stolen vehicles found at an Erwin Mill Road location March 21st. This past Sunday, he was charged with Receiving Stolen Goods and six counts, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

The Receiving Stolen Goods warrant alleges that between January 15th and March 21st of this year in Laurens County Dakota Allen Sergent knowingly possessed a stolen 2015 utility trailer that had been reported stolen from the jurisdiction of the Easley Police Department.

All six of the Possession of a Stolen Vehicle warrants allege that between January 15th and March 21st Dakota Allen Sergent knowing possessed stolen vehicles. These included a 1997 Ford F 150 pickup reported stolen from Spartanburg County Sheriff Office jurisdiction. The other five Stolen Vehicles in possession during that time period were noted as motorcycles. These were said to include a 1993 Harley Davidson reported stolen from Pickens County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, a 2015 Honda motorcycle reported stolen from Simpsonville Police Department jurisdiction and a  2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle reported stolen from Greenville County Sheriff’s jurisdiction. Also among stolen motorcycles were a 2014 Victory reported stolen from Simpsonville Police Department jurisdiction. And a 2018 Triumph reported stolen from Fountain Inn Police Department jurisdiction.

Dakota Allen Sergent remained in the Johnson Detention Center last evening. Another suspect in the case, identified as Charles Larry McCall of Erwin Mill Road, was arrested on March 21st and charged with five counts of Receiving Stolen Goods. He has since been released on bond.
