  • Tuesday, 3-11-25… Softball hosting Woodruff at 6:00 pm
  • Thursday, 3-13-25… Baseball hosting Greenwood at 6:30 pm
  • Friday, 3-14-25… Varsity softball Laurens at Clinton at 7:00 pm

Clinton HS

  • Softball up Next… The Red Devils were scheduled to play a doubleheader with River Bluff yesterday, but the weather caused those games to be postponed until tomorrow… First pitches are scheduled for 5:30 and 7:15
  • Baseball up Next… The Red Devils ae scheduled to host Union County today as part of a JV-Varsity doubleheader starting at 5:00 pm.

Laurens

  • Softball at Home Today… The Raiders will be hosting the Woodruff Wolverines at 6:00 pm tonight and we plan on bringing you that game here on Real Radio WLBG.
  • Tennis Team at Home Today… The Raider boys’ tennis team will be hosting the Fountain Inn Fury today at 4:30 pm.
  • Baseball up Next… The Raiders are scheduled to host Greenwood Thursday at 6:30 pm and we do plan on brining you that game here on Real Radio WLBG.
  • Girls’ Soccer: Clinton 4 – Laurens 2… Catching up on some girls’ soccer action, back on March 3rd the Raiders traveled to Clinton and fell to the Red Devils by a score of 4-2… For a little more information about this match, click here.
  • Boys’ Soccer: Laurens 1 – Clinton 0… Also on March 3rd, the Raider boys’ soccer team defeated the Red Devils by a score of 1-0… Sorry I don’t have any other details on that match.

Laurens Academy

  • Softball… Last week I told you that the Crusader softball team had played a couple of games and all I had was the score for those games and no other details… Some details are now available on those two games… Click on the score at the start of the games below and it will carry you to the Crusaders MaxPreps softball site where the details are located.
    • Wardlaw 19 – Crusaders 8… The Crusaders opened their season with a 19-8 loss at Wardlaw on Tuesday, 3-14… The patriots only outhit the Crusaders 13-8 but 7 Crusader errors aided the Patriots cause…  Braylee Burke had 2 hits for the Crusaders including a triple and drove in 3 runs… Click here for more details.
    • Spartanburg Christian 13 – Crusaders 0… On Thursday, 3-6-25 the Crusaders traveled up to Spartanburg to take on the Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors… I hate to have to remind you that the Warriors took a 13-0 win in 5 innings as the three Warrior pitchers struck out 12 Crusaders so hits were hard to come by for the Crusaders… For more information on the game, click here.

  • Baseball Host Abbeville… The Saints baseball team is scheduled to host Abbeville today at 7:00 pm.

 College Conference Basketball Tournaments

  • Big South Basketball Tournament… The Big South Conference will start the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 5th up in Johnson City, Tennessee… Both of the Blue Hose basketball teams will be participating with the Lady Blue Hose coming into their portion of the tournament as a #8 seed and taking on #9 seed UNC Ashville Wednesday, March 5th at 5:00 pm… They were eliminated by UNC Ashville…The men come into their portion of the tournament as#5 seed and will play #4 seed Radford at 2:30 pm on Friday… For complete information about this tournament click here to go to the Big South website where they have a posting dedicated to answering all your questions about it… If you have a question you can’t find the answer to there, you probably don’t need to know it….     • Men: Radford 74 – PC 69 in OT… The Blue Hose men’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker in the first round of the Big South Tournament as they fell to the Radford highlanders 74-69 in overtime… Radford led 37-23 at the half but PC fought back to tie the game 65-65 and send it into overtime… For more details on this game, click on the score above… PC finishes the season 14-8 overall and 7-9 in Big South Play.
    • Big South Tournament Winners
      • Women: High Point 59 – Longwood 53 The High Point Panthers came back and outscored the Longwood Lancers 17-6 in the fourth quarter to take a come-from-behind win in the Big South Women’s Championship Game and punch their ticket to the Big Dance…  Click on the score if you want more information on this game.
      • Men: High Point 81 – Winthrop 69… High Point will have two teams headed to the Big Dance because in the Men’s Big South Championship they defeated Winthrop 81-69… They had to erase a 15 point deficit in the second half to get the win… Click on the score if you want more information about the game.

 

  • Wofford Wins SoCon Men’s Tournament Championship… Last night up in Ashville the Wofford College Terriers punched their ticket to the Big Dance by defeating the Furman Paladins 92-85… It was a close game throughout and Wofford was able to pull away at the end… For more on this game, click here.

 

  • ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament… The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament starts today (Tuesday, 3-11-25) up in Charlotte… For more information about the tournament including the bracket, schedule and scores after the games are finished, click here… The Clemson Tigers are a #4 seed and will not play until Thursday at 9:30 pm.

  

  • SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament… The SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament will start tomorrow (Wednesday, 3-12-25) up in Nashville… If you click here it will carry you to the SEC website where they have a posting that has most anything you would want to know about the tournament including but not limited to bracket, schedule and scores… South Carolina drew a #16 see and will start play in the first game of the tournament tomorrow at 1:00 pm vs. Arkansas.
  • SEC Women’s Tournament… The SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament starts tomorrow at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville… For information about this tournament including but not limited to the bracket, scores, tickets, venue information and more, click here.
    •  South Carolina 64 – Texas 45Sunday the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated #1 nationally ranked at the time Teas 64-45 to win their third in as many years SEC Women’s Tournament Championship… Defense was the name of the game for the Gamecocks as they held the Longhorns to just 16 points in the first half… The two teams split the regular season series 1-1 so this was the “tie-breaker”… If you want more information about this game, click on the score at the start of this posting.
  •  ACC Women’s Tournament… The ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament also starts tomorrow at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro… For information about this tournament including but not limited to the bracket, scores, tickets, venue information and more, click here.
    • Championship Game: Duke 76 – NC State 62… The Duke Blue Devils rallied from a 14 point deficit to take a 76-62 win over the #1 seeded NC State Wolfpack to win the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament… If you want more information about this game, click on the score at the start of this posting.

  • Christopher Bell Wins for Third Time… In case you missed it Sunday; Christopher Bell is the hottest driver in the Cup series as he took yet another win (third in a row) at Phoenix… He battled his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin down the stretch in the last lap and just did beat him to the finish line for the second closest finish in the history of the track at Phoenix… For more on this race including the order of finish for the entire field, click here.
  • Driver Standings… After this race, the top 5 drivers in the Cup Series Standings are now William Byron, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott… If you click here you will go the NASCAR posting that has the Cups Series standings from top to bottom… Once you get there you can click on tabs at the top of the page to see the driver standings in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series.
