  • Clinton 53 – Pendleton 42… Last Friday night the Clinton Red Devil boys’ basketball team continued their play in the Class-AAA Playoffs as they hosted the Pendleton Bulldogs in second round action… Good news once again as the Red Devils took a 53-42 win over the Bulldogs… Pendleton scored first in the game but the Red Devils then scored 9 unanswered points to take a lead they would never relinquish… At the end of the first quarter they led 15-10 and stretched that to 27-17 at the half… The Red Devils came out a little cold in the third quarter and Pendleton chipped away at the Clinton lead until they were only down by 3 (32-29) with about 1:10 left in the quarter…. Part of the reason for this reversal was the fact that Clinton pretty much owned the defensive boards in the first half but Pendleton reversed that getting several second chance shots in the period… Clinton then went on a 6-0 run to close out the quarter and led 38-29 going into the final quarter… Clinton hung on outscoring the Bulldogs 15-12 in the final period to take the win… Jalen Carter had a game-high 15 points and Zay Hurley was right behind him with 14… Tymori Tribble and Vilo Boyd both had 8 points while Kiah Young and RJ Suber both chipped in 4 points… Afterwards Coach Eddie Romines was once again proud of his team’s play especially in the third quarter when the Bulldogs came back to make it close… The Red Devils will get back into action tomorrow night as they host the Berea Bulldogs who defeated Chester last Friday night 84-82 in triple overtime….
