Raider Wrestling… The Raider wrestling team hosted the Region II –AAAAA Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, 1-27-18.
Team… As a team the Raiders finished fourth with 109 points… Traditional powerhouse Hillcrest finished first with 228 points, Greenwood second with 164 points and Mauldin third with 159.5 points… Wade Hampton finished fifth and Riverside sixth with 81 and 60 points respectively.
Individual… The Raiders did have a Region Champion (which means he is All-Region) as Will Pontoon took the win in the 220 weight class… Three Raiders took 2nd place finishes: Damien Ladd @ 113, Robert Lawson @ 145, and Chris Jackson @ 195… Two Raiders finished in 3rd place and they were Caleb Reid @ 170, and Hunter Hamby @ 285… Below is video of 4 different raider wrestlers in action including Will Pontoon’s championship match as well as a few photos at the end of the 4 wrestling segments.
