he Laurens County Touchdown Club 2020 is kicking off its season at The Ridge in Laurens on September 24th at 12noon.
We were forced to kick off the TD Club later this year due to our Raiders and Devils starting in late September but we are excited that we are now ready to go. Of course the Presbyterian College Blue Hose football team is not playing this season but they will be represented especially in the second meeting on October the 8th when Coach Tommy Spangler will be the guest speaker.
The meetings will be held in the gym at the Ridge this year, so as to give us more space for social distancing.
One new feature this year is that the TD Club is now honoring one high school player each week as our Laurens County Player of the week.
The full schedule of speakers is as follows:
- September 24th… Local high school coaches
- October 8th … Tommy Spangler Head Coach at PC
- October 22nd… Shell Dula Executive Director of SC Coaches Association and a Laurens native
- November 5th… Head Coach Brian Turk of Limestone University
- November 19th… Former Gamecock great Connor Shaw and former Tiger great Jeff Davis.
- December 2nd Annual Banquet… Pete Yanity Sports Director at WSPA TV.
