Drug Charges Allege Forging Local Dentist’s Name

Forged prescriptions claiming to be from a Laurens dentist were cited by the South Carolina Bureau of Drug Control, following an arrest last Thursday. Three warrants alleging violations of the state’s Drug Distribution law were served Friday on 27-year-old Michael Brandon Crowe of Strawberry Road, Anderson. Mr. Crowe is accused of fraudulently obtaining quantities of Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, with the forged signature of a Laurens dentist. These acquisitions by deception or subterfuge are alleged to have occurred on June 26th and July 22nd of 2019 and on March 10th of 2020. Posting bonds on the three charges regarding the forged prescriptions totaling $15,000, Michael Brandon Crowe was released from Laurens County’s detention center Saturday.
