New Plant to Hire 82, Invest $8 million

Another new industrial facility for Laurens County is now in the process of arranging for local tax incentives. At last week’s Laurens County Council Meeting, council unanimously gave a first reading approval for Resolution 2021-37C. This, when given final approval, would set Fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreements between Laurens County for a company that is now referred to as “Project Tec.”

County Attorney Sandy Cruickshanks told council that the company will be a new business operating in the Fountain Inn Area of the county that proposes an investment of $8 million. Approximately 82 jobs are expected. This still needs 2nd and 3rd readings from County Council to be adopted.
