Bond Denied for Accused Murderer

Bond has been denied in the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office charges on a man from a fatal stabbing last week. Warrants were served charging 41-year-old Jeremy Eric Ferguson of Ekom Beach Road, Laurens with Murder and with Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. This is in connection with the alleged stabbing of Akira Deauntay Robinson of Laurens. A Coroner’s report indicated Robinson died of a stab wound to the chest. During arraignment on the charges last Thursday, bond was denied to Mr. Ferguson.

During the bond hearing, Akira Deauntay Robinson’s family was allowed to speak. The judge was told, “Deauntay was just 22 years old. We will never get to see him get married or have children. Mr. Ferguson has taken a life and we are devastated by this tragic loss. Mr. Ferguson could have chosen to walk away from the situation; instead this life was senselessly taken away before his time.”
