Laurens Man Arrested For Alleged Financial Transaction Card Fraud

Sunday A Laurens Man was booked in the county for two counts of alleged Financial Transaction Card Fraud Value $500 or less in six month period. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Robert John Wood of Vern Cora Road for the alleged charges. According to reports On New Year’s Wood was accused of defrauding the victim by using a TD Bank Debit card belonging to the victim, withdrawing $320 cash including a $2.05 usage fee, totaling $322.95 from an ATM machine at a gas station located on US highway 221 N, Laurens. Wood was also accused of Withdrawing and additional $200 including a $2 usage fee, totaling $203 from an ATM machine at a gas station located on SC Highway 14. Robert Wood has since been released from the Johnson Detention Center.
