Clinton HS
- Girls Tennis: Clinton 6 – Chester 0… The Lady Red Devil tennis team traveled over to Chester HS yesterday to take on the Cyclones in region action… It was most likely a quick trip over and back as the Red Devils took a 6-0 win and only had 3 matches actually played as the Cyclones forfeited 3 matches… The Red Devils that actually took wins against opposition on the courts were Mary Catherine Dailey, Chandler Dailey, and Gracie Spangler… They all took 6-0, 6-0 wins… To see the reporting sheet that Coach Simmons uses click here… The team is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in region play… They will be back in action tomorrow when they host the Emerald Vikings in region action on the courts at Clinton MS.
Laurens HS
- Girls Tennis: Wade Hampton 6 – Laurens 0… The Lady Raider tennis team traveled up to Wade Hampton on Monday to take on the Generals… Now all the information I have on the match is that the Generals took a 6-0 win over the Raiders… The team will be back in action today as they host the Eastside Eagles on the courts behind LDHS starting at 4:30… Good luck to Coach Todd and the team, Go Raiders!
- JV Football Game at TL Hanna Information… For those Raider fans that are planning on following the Raider JV team up to TL Hanna Thursday, there are a few things you need to know… First, they will be selling tickets at the gate, but you must use debit or credit card to purchase them, no cash sales… They do encourage you to purchase your tickets ahead of time online to avoid lines at the ticket booth… In order to do that, click here and it will carry you to the TL Hanna athletic website where you can purchase your tickets… Secondly, TL Hanna does have a clear bag policy for entrance into the stadium… To see examples of what is allowed and what is not allowed click here.
Laurens Academy
- Volleyball: LA 3 – Cambridge 0… The Laurens Academy Crusader volleyball teams hosted the Cougars of Cambridge Academy yesterday and in varsity action the Crusaders took a 3-0 region win… They won all 3 sets by the same score of 25-18… With the win the Crusaders go to 15-4 overall on the season and 6-0 in region play…. The middle school team also played yesterday, and they won 2-0 to run their season record to 9-1 and 6-0 in region play… The Crusader teams will host Wardlaw tomorrow starting at 4:00 pm with middle school action and the varsity starting about 5:00 pm… Go Crusaders!

MLB Baseball
- Braves 3– Washington 2… The Braves took a 3-2 win over the Washington Nationals in game 2 of their 3-game series down in Atlanta last night… With the win, the Braves have clinched a spot in the playoffs for the fifth year in a row… They are 1 game behind the Mets in the NL East and still have a distinct possibility of winning the division before the season ends… The Braves took the win despite making 3 errors in the game and both teams had only 7 hits each… The Nationals got all their runs playing “small ball” while all 3 of the Braves runs came off homers… Travis d’Arnaud (18) had a two-run homer in the fourth inning and Dansby Swanson (21) had a solo shot in the sixth inning… The Braves will be going for the sweep this afternoon about 12:20 pm.

- Chris Buescher Becomes 19th Different Driver to Win Cup Series Race…… Last Sunday up at Bristol, Chris Buescher became the 19th different driver to win a cup series race this season… He had to hold off Chase Elliott the last 50 laps to do so… For more on this race including a link to the final race results click here.
- Driver Standings… After the race Sunday, of the 16 drivers who qualified for the playoff Chase Elliott is first in the standings with Joey Logano second and Ross Chastain… To see the driver complete list of driver standings click here…Once you get there you can filter by the NASCAR Series you are interested in.

Laurens County Touchdown Club… Once again this football season the Laurens County TD Club will be meeting every other Thursday at noon at The Ridge located at 319 Exchange Drive in Laurens… The coast of the annual membership is only $150 which gets you one ticket to all 7 of the regular meetings and one ticket to the Annual awards banquet… To see the flyer that the TD Club has put out that contains more information about the meetings, click here…To join or if you have questions, contact Marlene Owings at 833-2716 or at mowings@laurenscounty.org… Partial videos of the TD Club meeting featuring any awards handed out and what the local coaches had to say at the meeting (as well as guest speakers ) will be available a few days to a week after the meetings… To see those videos, click here… The video from the 9-8-22 meeting is now available on that posting… The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 22nd where in addition to the local high school coaches the quest speaker will be Coach Shell Dula who was recently inducted into the Laurens County Sports Hall of Fame
