- McCormick 53 – Thornwell 0… The Saints traveled down to McCormick last Friday night and the trip back most likely seemed longer that the one going down as the Chiefs rolled to a 53-0 win after leading 37-0 at the half… The Saints were outmanned by the strong and physical Chiefs as they had a 14 yds. passing and only 44yds. rushing for a total of 58 yds. of offense…. - Laurens Academy 36 – Oakbrook Prep 34… The Laurens Academy Crusaders found themselves doe 14-8 to the Oakbrook Prep Knights at the end of the first quarter and tied 22-22 at the half… The score was tied 28-28 at the start of the 4th quarter but the Crusaders outscored the Knights in the 4th quarter 12-6 to take a 36-34 win… Now I cannot tell you the order in which the Crusader scores occurred but I can tell you the Crusader quarterback Ethan Collins completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 283 yds. and completed 3 TD passes… Buddy Baker was on the receiving end of 2 of those TD passes and Nathan Bell the other… The Crusaders had 183 yds. rushing with Jarred Willard and Garrett Murphy both having a rushing TD each… Buddy Baker had a two point conversion while Garrett Murphy had two… All were on passes from Ethan Collins… The Crusaders are now 2-2 on the season and will travel to Wardlaw Friday night to take on the Patriots.
- Clinton 63 – Aiken 6… The 3-0 Red Devils defeated the Aiken Green Hornets at home last Friday night by a score of 63-6 to run their record to 4-0… As you might expect, the Red Devils dominated every statistical category you would want to be ahead in and had 445 yds. of total offense to Aiken’s 189… The Red Devils had 287 yds. rushing and scored 5 rushing TDs… Zane McClendon had 2 rushing TDs while DJ Clark, Kendarious Copeland and Kadon Crawford each getting a rushing TD…Tyshuwan Richardson completed 8 of 10 passes for 183 yards with 3 TD passes…Kadon Crawford, Zay Johnston and MJ Henderson caught a TD pass… Zay Johnston also had a 68 yd. kickoff return for a TD and the Red Devils caught a Hornet in the endzone for a safety while the defense recovered 2 Aiken fumbles… To see the complete stat package as well as a play-by-play accounting of the game click here…The Red Devils host the Chapman Panthers this Friday night.
- Chapman 48 – Raiders 3… The Raiders are on the road for the first time this season and they fell to the Chapman Panthers by a score of 48-3… Chapman won the coin toss so Laurens got the ball first… The Raiders drove down the field and scored on a 36 yd. field goal by Brock Franklin… The Panthers scored at the end of their first possession to make it 7-3 and the Raiders were never able to score again… The Panthers had 245 yds. rushing to the Raiders 120… They also had 247 yds. passing to the Raiders 36… The Panthers had 2 rushing TDs and 5 passing… To see the stats on the game, scoring plays and a play-by-play accounting of the game click here… The Raiders will travel to Union County to take on the Yellow Jackets this Friday night.
