  • Northwestern 57 – Laurens 0… The Laurens Raiders traveled over to Rock Hill last Friday to take on the 9-1 Northwestern Trojans in first round action of the Class AAAA Playoffs… The Trojans only loss was in their first game of the season where they lost 42-35 to the top ranked school in North Carolina… The Raiders quickly found out that the Trojans were the real deal as they rolled a 22-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and 50 -0 at the half in route to a 57-0 win…  The Raider won the toss and elected to receive and did pick up one first down before punting… The Trojans only took 5 plays to score when their quarterback Finley Polk threw the first of 3 TDS in the game… After that, it was pretty much all Trojans as they rolled up 365 yds. of total offense to the Raiders 21… The Trojans had 234 yds. rushing Zilon Arnold leading their attack with 89 yds. and 2 TDs… Their Shrine Bowl running back Turbo Richards finished with 79 yds. and 1 TD… One bright spot for the Raider is that Javaye Suber had another interception in the 2nd quarter but the Raiders could not cash in on that turnover… The Raiders showed heart and never stopped competing but the Trojans were just too strong a team… Click here to see the basic stats on the game and check back later for more information on the game… The Raider finish the season 2-9 overall and 2-2 in region play (fourth)… Northwestern will host Greenwood this Friday night that avenged an earlier regular season loss to North Augusta by defeating them 17-16 Friday night.
