Laurens HS
- Raider Tennis Camp… The Raider tennis teams will be hosting a tennis camp starting today and concluding on Tuesday on the courts at LDHS… The camp is for youth ages 4-13 that are looking to improve their tennis skills… The cost will be $50 per camper and the campers will be broken into one of two groups, beginner or intermediate… For more information about the camp, click here… To register for the camp, click here… If you have any questions, contact Coach Lynne Todd at lntodd@laurens55.org or calling her at 864-923-4038…
- Kiddie Cheer Camp… Once again this summer the Raider cheerleaders and coaches will be having a Kiddie Cheer Camp… The camp is for youth 4-12 and it will be held starting on Monday June 17th and ending on Wednesday, June 19th… The camp will start at 9:00 am on those days and end at noon in the LDHS main gym… The cost is $60 per camper and if a camper has a sibling that wants to attend the cost is only $100 for both campers… You can register and pay for the camp by clicking here… If you have any questions about this camp, contact Coach Erin Patterson at the following email address: eopatterson@laurens55.org… This camp has always been a camp where the campers have a lot of fun while picking up some valuable pointers about cheering.
- Raider Football Camp… The Laurens Raider football team and coaches will also be conducting a camp this summer starting on Monday, June 24th and ending on Thursday, Thursday, June 27th… This camp is for youth who will be in grades 2 – 9 this next school year… The camp will be held at KC Hanna Stadium between the hour of 8:00 am and 11:30 am… The cost is $50 per camper and you can bay for the camp online by clicking here… For a little more information about this camp click here… If you still have questions about the camp email Coach Greg Porter at: gsporter@laurens55.org

College Baseball
- Super Regional Results… Time does not allow me to run through all the Super Regional results over the weekend… However, you can easily find out the results below… Simply click on the name of the Super Regional you are interested in, and it will open up the schedule and results for that Super Regional.
- Florida 10 – Clemson 7… In spite of what I said above, I will go ahead and mention something I hate to report and that is that the Clemson Tigers fell to the Florida Gators by a score 10-7 in their opening game of the 3-game series on Saturday… The Tigers led 4-2 going into the top of the 5th inning where the wheels came off the bus for the Tigers as the Gators scored 7 runs in the inning to take a 9-4 lead over the Tigers and the Tigers did cut the Gators lead to 9-8 in the 6th inning but could get no closer as the Gators scored another run in the 9th… Click on the score at the beginning for more details on the game… The Tigers were scheduled to play the Gators again yesterday but I can’t report that score to you… Click here to go to the Super Regional schedule to see if they forced a game 3 today… I sure hope they did… Go Tigers!
- 2024 NCAA CWS Brackets … The NCAA Division I Baseball regionals started Friday 5-31 and have now reached the field of 16 as Super Regional play begins this weekend…Half the Super Regionals will begin on Friday and the other half on Saturday… They all are the best of 3 series with the winners advancing to the CWS next weekend… If you want to see an interactive bracket for the playoffs by regional click here…. The 8 Super Regionals are:
- Knoxville… Tennessee vs. Evansville… This Super Regional started Friday, 6-7-24
- Tallahassee… Florida St. vs. UConn… This Super Regional started Friday, 6-7-24

Atlanta Braves… For more information on the game(s) below, click on the scores.
- Friday: Nationals 2 – Braves 1… After winning the opening game of their 4-game series with the Washington Nationals in DC on Thursday by a score of 5-2, the Nationals rebounded on Friday to take a 2-1 win over the Braves… The Braves actually out hit the Nationals 6-5 but the Nationals got the key hits when needed especially in the 4th inning where they scored both their runs and then held the Braves scoreless until the 8th inning when Matt Olson singled to drive in the Braves only run.
- Saturday: Nationals 7 – Braves 3… The Saturday afternoon the National jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 4 innings of play and then went on to take a 7-3 win over the Braves… They simply outhit the Braves 12-7… One of the Braves’ hits was a solo homer by Sean Murphy in the 7th inning his first of the season.
- Sunday: ???… As I mentioned at the opening of my sports report, I recorded and posted this early Sunday morning therefore I cannot tell you how he Braves did in the Sunday game… You can find out by clicking on the schedule link below… If you do that, you will also find out that the Braves are off tonight (Monday) and will travel to Baltimore to start a 3-game series with the Orioles tomorrow (Tuesday).

- Friday: Crawdads 4 – Drive 2… The Greenville Drive continue were still not able to eat Crawdads as the Hickory Crawdads took their fourth win in as many days up in Hickory defeating the Drive 4-2… The Crawdads only out hit the Drive 7-6 but 3 Drive errors helped them as only 1 of their 4 runs were earned… The Drive did have 2 solo homers to account for their 2 runs.
- Saturday: Crawdads 12 – Drive 1… The Drives allergy to Crawdads became even more severe Saturday as the Crawdads took a 12-1 win… Three homeruns by the Crawdads pretty much tell the story of this game especially when one of them is a grand slam… The Drives only run came on a solo homer by Enderso Lira his firs of the season.
- Sunday: ???… Again as I mentioned at the opening of my sports report, I recorded and posted this early Sunday morning therefore I cannot tell you how he Drive did in the Sunday game… You can find out by clicking on the schedule link below… If you do that, you will also find out that the Drive are off tonight (Monday) and will start a 6-game series with the Ashville Tourist at Flour Field tomorrow (Tuesday).

- Sunday: ???… Once again I cannot tell you how the Mavericks at Boston game came out Sunday night… If you want to find out click here to go to the NBA website where the schedule for the finals is located with scores after the games are completed… No matter how that game came out, game 3 of the best of 7 series is scheduled for Wednesday night in Dallas with an 8:30 pm ET and can be seen on ABC.

Summer Camps at Clinton YMCA… The Clinton YMCA has released their schedule of Summer Youth Sports Camps for this year… To see a list of those camps including dates, location, times and cost click here… These cams do have registration deadlines and you register at the Clinton YMCA… The next camps are:
- Softball Camp… This camp will be June 17-19 in the YMCA field from 9:00 am to 11:30 am… It is open to girls ages 7-12 and will be conducted by Coach Matt Davis and Jennifer Lawson… The cost is $40 for YMCA members and $50 for non-members… The deadline to register is Friday, June 14 @ 4:00 pm
