Promoting Recycling

The Advisory Council for South Carolina Recycling Market Development met yesterday at a catalytic converter recycling facility here in Laurens County. South Carolina District 16 House Representative Mark Willis was on hand for the event at United Catalyst Corporation on Fountain Inn’s Industrial Blvd. Representative Willis told WLBG that with just over 20% of South Carolinians recycling, 1,135,905 tons of solid waste was recycled last year. That’s the weight of over 4,000 loaded Boeing 787 planes. Representative Willis will be our guest on the Morning News Magazine this Friday morning with more thoughts on this issue. He’ll also speak with us about the legislature addressing an insurance problem that’s been causing some business to close, including on in Laurens.
