An unwanted visit allegedly turned worse at a Waterloo area residence last Thursday. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Matthew Keegan Riley of Twin Lakes Drive, Summerville and charged him with Trespassing, Breach of Peace, 3rd Degree Assault and Battery and with Resisting Arrest with Assault on an Officer.
Mr. Riley is accused of entering a residence on Bob White Drive, Waterloo September 26th without legal cause, having been previously warned to stay away. There, he allegedly committed Non-Aggravated Breach of Peace by creating a disturbance in the residence, including by flipping chairs in the residence by shouting obscenities. That reportedly continued outside the house, where he is further accused of urinating on the porch. He’s further accused of committing battery upon a victim by shoving her during a verbal argument. Mr. Riley is also accused of swinging his head in a backward motion, striking a deputy in the face as the deputy was attempting to place Riley under arrest.
Cash or surety bonds were set totaling $12,640. That included $10,000 for the assault while Resisting Arrest charge.
