An attempted theft of candy was alleged with a Sheriff’s Office arrest last week. An Enhanced Shoplifting charge was served on 27-year-old Rebecca Danielle Castaneda of Pickens Street, Joanna. It accuses her of taking possession of candy called Laffy Taffy last Thursday with intent to deprive the merchant of the merchandise. A warrant states that the suspect has two prior convictions for this offense. Rebecca Castaneda was released from Detention Saturday on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
