Sorry for the delay in posting this but it was because of a computer problem.

Clinton HS

  • Up Next in Football…  The Red Devils get back on the field tonight at Wilder Stadium hosting the Chesnee Eagles in the first region game for both teams… The Red Devils are 3-2 and the Eagles are 2-3… A common opponent for both teams this season is Woodruff… The Eagles lost to the Wolverines 45-28 about a month ago while the Red Devils lost to the Wolverines in a close one 40-36 in the first game of the season…. Chesnee is averaging 25.8 points per game while the Red Devils average 31 points per game… The Eagles are giving up an average of 32.6 point per game while the Red Devils are giving up and average of 25.2 points per game… To see the Chesnee schedule and scores click here… Go Big Red!
  • Homecoming… Homecoming has now been set for Oct. 25th when the Red Devils host the Blacksburg Wildcats… More details will be released later.

Laurens HS

  • Up Next in Football…   The Raiders will be hosting the Southside Tigers tonight in their first region game and it will also be Homecoming… As with the other area team, this will be the first region game of the season for both teams and both teams are 0-5 so unless something very unforeseen happens, one of the two teams will pick up its first win… Southside is averaging 18.5 per game while giving up 34.8… Raiders have had trouble on offense averaging just 6.2 points per game while the defense has been helping them hang in there only allowing 31 points per game with most of that in second half of each game…To see the Southside schedule and results click here… By the way it is also Homecoming.

  • Raider Cheer Classic 2024… The Raider completive cheer team finally got to start its season last night as they hosted the Raider Cheer Classic 2024… By the way, this was the first time the Raiders had ever hosted a completive cheer event… The number of teams that were able to compete was reduced at the last minute as the Greenville County School District imposed a 6:00 pm curfew on all athletic events and practices yesterday…. The Raiders finished second among the Class AAAA teams present to region foe Westside… Coach Erin Patterson said she was pleased with the Raiders first performance of the season especially since she has 5 middle schoolers on the team and several others who are new to competitive cheer on the team… If you click here, you will see a video of the 21/2 minute routine the Raiders performed a couple of photos after that… The Raiders are scheduled to participate in another event this Saturday where they are scheduled to take “center stage” at about 10:45 am… Go up and support the team if you get a chance
  • Fall Ticketing Information and Other Need to Know Venue Information… The Raiders have released information concerning tickets and other rules and regulations you need to know about before you go to any athletic events on campus this fall… This information also includes a parking map… Please check this out to save you some problems before you go… Click here to see that information.

Laurens Academy

  • Up Next in Football… The Crusader’s will travel to Oakbrook Prep for a region game tonight at 7:30 pm… As you may recall, the Crusaders are 4-2 on the season while the Knights are 0-5… Earlier in the season the Crusaders took a 40-20 win over the Knights at Todd Kirk Field… Coach Doolittle says that any team that is trying to get its first win is dangerous and the Crusaders cannot take them lightly…. The Knights average 22.4 points per game while giving up 44 while the Crusaders average 38 points per game and give up an average of 31.5… To see the Oakbrook schedule and scores click here…. Go Crusaders!
  • Crusaders Host Region Tournament… Both the middle school and varsity volleyball teams will be in action tomorrow as the Crusaders host the region tournament … The middle school team will start their participation at 10:00am and if (when) they win they will play again about noon…The varsity team is supposed to take to the court tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 and if (when) they win they will play again about 4#0 pm… Good Luck both teams

Thornwell

  • Volleyball: Abbeville 3 – Saints 0… last night the Thornwell Saints volleyball teams hosted the Abbeville Panthers in region action… I hate to have to report that the Saints were unable to “ring the bell” as in varsity action the Panthers took a 3-0 win… As a rule the Saints hung in there in the early portion of each set only to have the Panthers pull away in the end… Set scores were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-22… The middle school teams also played and Abbeville took a 2-0 win in that match… Set scores were 25-19 and 25-8… The Saints still have a shot at making the playoffs… Go Big Dogs!
