A hearing planned for today into the voter registration of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Philson has been postponed, due to the threat of bad weather today. The Laurens County Elections Commission has rescheduled the hearing for Monday.
W. Brown Patterson Jr. asked the Elections Commission to investigate to voter registration address of Cassandra Philson and Arthur Lee Philson Jr. Patterson stated a belief that the Mr. and Mrs. Philson have falsified information and perjured themselves when signing documentation with the office of the Elections Commission. He submitted documents which he said show that the address listed on their voter registration, 3212 Milam Road, Clinton, is not their residence.
Mr. Patterson stated that Laurens County Tax records for the parcel at 3212 Milam Road, Clinton show that it has not been accessed with a structure on the property, that it has been assessed as 29.19 acres coded with an Agricultural Exemption. He also states that in County Tax records, Mrs. Philson has been claiming residential/owner occupied rate of 4% since acquiring her home at 101 Meeks Drive, Laurens, in 1990.
Brown Patterson further states that multiple lawsuits have been served to Mrs. Philson at her address on Meek Drive, Laurens.
Mr. Patterson requests the Election Commission to investigate the voter registrations of Mr. and Mrs. Philson and determine if they are valid. He further requests that if they are found not to have resided at 3212 Milam Road, the Commission determine and publish the number of times they voted with a false voter registration.
