- Boys: Raiders 44 – Chesnee 39… Yesterday the Raider boys’ basketball team traveled over to Westside HS to participate in the Martin Luther King Holiday Classic taking on the Chesnee Eagles… While it’s illegal to kill Eagles they did manage to clip their wings as they took a 44-39 win, but it was not an easy win… The Eagles led 27-19 at the half but the Raiders outscored them 21-7 in the third quarter to take a 40-34 lead into the final 8 minutes of play…. In the fourth quarter the Eagles were playing a zone defense and the Raiders held the ball outside wanting the Eagles to come out of the zone and play man-to-man defense… For the better part of 5 minutes they stayed back in the zone so the Raiders just held the ball while the clock wound down… Finally they came out and outscored the Raiders 5-4 down the stretch but it was too little too late as the Raiders hung on for the 44-39 win… Q. Watts led the Raiders with a game-high 17 points and DJ Martin also scored in double-digits as he finished with 13 points… TyJ Jones finished with 7 points, RJ Brewster-Snow 3, Nigere Brown 2 and Zee Simpson 2… The now are 14-5 overall on the season while Chesnee falls to 14-5 overall.

- Freshman Boys: Fury 47 – Raiders 39… The news is not good where the freshman boys’ team is concerned as they fell to the Fury by a score of 47-39… The Raiders actually led 8-5 at the end of the first quarter of play but the Fury came back to take a 21-16 lead at the half… The Fury continued to outscore the Raiders by small amounts in the second half and have more rebounds and blocked shots as they went on to the 47-39 win… The Raiders were led in scoring by Rodney Conway who was the only Raider in double-digits with 10 points… Sy Westfield finished with 8 points, Savarion Carter 6, Kamauri More 4, JJ Bennett 4 and Kaleb Gilchrist 3.
- JV Boys: Fury 37 – Raiders 31… The Fury completed the sweep of the Raiders when they took a 37-31 win in JV boys’ action… The Raiders actually led 9-7 at the end of the first quarter but trailed 27-17 going into the fourth quarter… There they made a run at the Furry but just could not complete the comeback…Carter Adair led the Raiders in scoring with 13 points while Buddy Cheeks scored 6, KB Blackwell 4, Damajia Crooks 3, Anthony Cunningham 3, and Sincere Shands 2.
