Hardship, danger, and the loss of life, property, and welfare were all realities for the women who lived and fought through the Revolutionary War.  Many saw their homes, property, and crops destroyed before their eyes, not to mention the physical harm done to them and their loved ones.  Women were essential to the success of the Patriots, as well as in the support of the families who chose to remain loyal to the crown.  Many risked life and limb in extremely heroic acts of courage.  Ashmore will speak about their role in our country’s independence.
