Clinton HS
- Elizabeth Reid Signs with Lander… Yesterday at Clinton HS, senior Elizabeth Reid signed a letter of intent to continue her education and cross-country career a little further
than the distance of a marathon from Clinton at Lander University… Elizabeth has been a member of the Red Devil cross country team for 6 years and will be missed… Her senior season was in doubt at one point as she had surgery back in April of last year but her work and dedication during rehab paid off as she helped the team qualify for the state tournament where the Red Devils finished 11th in Class 2A/// She earned All-Region and All-County honors this past season and just missed the All-State team finishing 18th in the state tournament last fall with a time of 21:33:06 which placed her 18th in the state… Congratulations and Good Luck to Elizabeth.
- Softball Preseason Tournament… The Red Devil softball team is hosting a preseason tournament again this year and that tournament it started Monday (3-3-25 and will end on Saturday (3-8-25)… In addition to the Red Devils the other teams that are taking part are Abbeville, Whitmire, Greenwood, Laurens and Blacksburg… To see the entire tournament schedule click here… The schedule for today and results from yesterday are as follows:
- Whitmire vs. Blacksburg at 5:00 pm and Laurens vs. Abbeville at 7:00 pm
- Results from yesterday: The Greenwood vs. Clinton game scheduled for yesterday was postponed… It will be made-up tomorrow night at 9:00 pm.
- Baseball Back in Action Today… The Red Devil varsity baseball team will be back in action down at Emerald HS participating in Emerald City Preseason Baseball Tournament… As a reminder the Red Devils are 1-1 in the tournament having lost to South Aiken 5-3 last Friday and defeating Silver Bluff 13-3 last Saturday… Tonight at 6:00 pm they are scheduled to take on the host Emerald Vikings which are also 1-1 in the tournament… Go Big Red!
Laurens
- Softball… The Raiders are scheduled to take on Whitmire tonight at 7:00 pm at Clinton HS.
- Baseball… The Raider baseball season will start today taking part in The Classic down in Georgetown… They will take on TL Hanna at 2:30 pm.

PC Notes
- Big South Basketball Tournament… The Big South Conference will start the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 5th up in Johnson City, Tennessee… Both of the Blue Hose basketball teams will be participating with the Lady Blue Hose coming into their portion of the tournament as a #8 seed and taking on #9 seed UNC Ashville Wednesday, March 5th at 5:00 pm… The men come into their portion of the tournament as a #5 seed and will play #4 seed Radford at 2:30 pm on Friday… For complete information about this tournament click here to go to the Big South website where they have a posting dedicated to answering all your questions about it… If you have a question, you can’t find the answer to there, you probably don’t need to know it…. Go Blue Hose!
- Women: UNC Asheville 69 – PC 63… The Lady Blue Hose basketball team saw its season come to an end in the first round of the Big South Tournament up in Johnson City, Tenn. As they fell to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs by a score of 63-69… The Bulldogs led at the end of the first quarter 19-16 but PC rallied to lead 40-37 at the half… The PC lead was cut to 2 points at the end of the third quarter and then the Bulldogs outscored them 19-11 down the stretch to take the win… PC finishes the season with a 6-24 record.

- DI AP Poll… The latest AP Top 25 Poll (3-2-25) some changes in the top 5 this week… Auburn is still #1 followed by Duke, Houston (4), Tennessee (5) and Florida (3)… There were also some changes in spots 6-10 as St John’s (7) checks in at #6 followed by Alabama (6), Michigan St., Texas Tech (10) and Iowa State (9)…Clemson moved up from #13 to #11 this week… To see the remainder of the top 25 click here.

- ACC Women’s Tournament… The ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament also starts tomorrow at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro… For information about this tournament including but not limited to the bracket, scores, tickets, venue information and more, click here… Clemson a #14 seed will take on Stanford a #11 seed Wednesday at 6:30 pm in a first round game.
- Clemson 63 – Stanford 46… The Lady Tigers did defeat the Lady Cardinals of Stanford last night in Greensboro by a score of 63-46… The #14 seeded Tigers will now take on #6 seeded Louisville tonight at 7:00 pm.
Baseball
- DIBaseball.com Top 25… The latest (3-2-25) DI Baseball.com Top 25 poll, the top 5 are LSU (2), Tennessee (3), Arkansas (4), North Carolina (5) and Georgia (6)… Spots 6-10 are occupied by Florida State (7), Florida (18), Oregon State (9), Virginia (10) and Oregon (11)… Clemson checked in at #11… To see the entire top 25 in this poll click here.

NASCAR
- Christopher Bell Wins Again… In case you missed it Sunday; Christopher Bell took the win in the Cup Series out in Austin making him the first two-race winner and first back-to-back winner this season… He was able to chase down Kyle Busch late on the road course and then hold off William Byron to get the win… For more on this race including the order of finish for the entire field, click here. .
- Driver Standings… After this race, the top 5 drivers in the Cup Series Standings are now William Byron, Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott… If you click here you will go the NASCAR posting that has the Cups Series standings from top to bottom… Once you get there you can click on tabs at the top of the page to see the driver standings in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series.
- Master Schedule… If you click here it will carry you to the NASCAR website where the season schedule is posted and you can look at the Cup Series.
