Clinton HS

  • Baseball: Clinton 4– Union 1… Last night the Red Devil varsity baseball team traveled over to Union to take on the Yellow Jackets… I’m pleased to report that the Red Devils took a 4-1 win over Union but it was not easy… Union actually outhit the Red Devils 7-4 but the red devils used their 4 hits in combination with 5 Union errors, 3 walks and a hit batter to produce their 4 runs… No Red Devil had over one hit… To see the box score of the game click here and to see the scorecard to see how the runs were scored click here… The team is now 5-2 on the season and will host Mid-Carolina in region action next Tuesday at 7:30 pm
  • JV Baseball: Clinton 7 – Union 2… The Red Devil JV baseball team also played last night at Union and they won 7-2… To see the box score of the game click here and to see the scorecard to see how the runs were scored click here.

  • Kuykendall Signs with Brevard… Yesterday afternoon at Clinton HS senior Lukas Kuykendall signed a letter to continue his football career and education play for the Brevard College Tornados… Lukas handled most all the kickoffs, place kicking and punting for the Red Devils the last couple of seasons… Coach Fountain was sure to point out the work he put out not only on the football field but also in the classroom to get to this point… He also noted he became aware of Lukas when he attended a Clinton MS game when he first came to Clinton and was amazed to see the Wildcats attempting PATs and Field goals… That is something rare in middle school football… He will be joining his teammate and long snapper Rion Gordon who signed with the Tornados last month… To see a short video interview done with him after the signing and a few photos at its end, click here… Congratulations and Good Luck to Lukas!

Laurens

  • Softball… The Raider softball team hosted the Southside Tigers in region action last night and to put it mildly they were Tiger tamers.
    • Raiders 21 – Tigers 2 (3)… In the first game the Raiders scored 16 runs in the first inning and went on to take a 21-2 win in 3 innings… They only outhit the Tigers 7-0 but 4 of their hits were for extra bases as Carly Edwards had a 2-run home, Addy Carlisle and Makayden Livingston both had triples while Myleigh Robertson had a double… The 12 walks issued by Tiger pitchers and 2 Tiger errors helped the Raiders… To see the box score of the game click here and to see the scorecard to see how the runs were scored click here.
    • Raiders 24 – Tigers 1… The second game was as one-sided as the first as the Raiders took a 24-1 win in 3 innings… In the second game, the Raiders 13 runs in the 1st inning and were never threatened after that… They outhit the Tigers 14-3 and 7 Tiger errors aided the Raiders cause… Addison Trevino and Zealy Martin both had 3 hits to lead the Raiders at the plate…  To see the box score of the game click here and to see the scorecard to see how the runs were scored click here… The Raiders travel to Clinton tonight and we plan on broadcasting the varsity game here on Real Radio WLBG at about 7:00 pm.

  • Baseball: Laurens 11 – Greenwood 1 (6)… The Raider baseball team had its home opener last night as they hosted the Greenwood Eagles… The Raiders were able to clip the Eagles wings as they took an 11-1 win… They used 10 well placed singles, 8 walks and 4 Eagle errors to take the win at Ed Prescott Field… The Eagles scored a single run in the top of the 1st inning, but the Raiders scored 4 in the bottom of the inning and led 6-1 going into the bottom of the 6th inning… There the Raiders scored 5 runs to end the game on 10-run rule…. Logan Martin and Bennett Edwards both had 2 hits to lead the Raiders at the plate and Noah Hughes picked up the win going 5 innings with Grayson Ledford finished the game… To see the box score of the game click here and to see the scorecard to see how the runs were scored click here.

  • Softball: Crusaders 16 – Eagles 4… Now catching up with the Laurens Academy softball team, I found out yesterday that back on Monday they traveled down to Richard Winn to take on the Eagles and the ride back was a happy one as they defeated the Eagles 16-4… They led 5-4 going into the top of the 4th inning where they put 11 runs on the scoreboard and held the eagles scoreless the rest of the way… Braylee Burke and Mackenzie Runyan led the Crusaders attack each going 4 for 4… For more stats on this game click here to go to the Crusaders MaxPreps posting about this game.
