A repeat drug offense was charged yesterday for a Union County man arrested Sunday. Laurens City Police have charged 39-year-old John Daniel Crumpton Jr. of 126 Rainbow Lane, Jonesville with 2nd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and with Malicious Damage.
Warrants cite an investigation of Officer Van Pelt as indicating that on Sunday, March 10th Mr. Crumpton was in possession of approximately 1.24 grams of methamphetamines, and that criminal history indicates that the defendant has one prior conviction of a methamphetamine/cocaine offense. The drug offense is alleged to have occurred Sunday at Walmart in Laurens. Officer Van Pelt also issued a ticket charging Crumpton with Malicious Damage at 9:04 Sunday night at Walmart, 922 East Main.
John Daniel Crumpton Jr. remained in the Johnson Detention Center overnight with cash or surety bonds on his two charges set totaling $7,000.
